Au Pair in Europe

All Au Pair in Europe placements arranged  for British and other EU national Au Pairs are carefully co-ordinated with us working closely alongside partner agencies that are members of IAPA ( International Au Pair Association ).
Our local partner agency in your chosen country to be Au Pair, screen host families fully and are available to support you throughout your placement.
They will arrange Au Pair meetings and social events, can assist you in finding a language school and help you find new Au Pair friends.

This is a great cultural exchange experience to embrace, especially if you are looking to improve on a language. Having babysitting experience with children is also useful.
Host Families will expect between 20-35 hours per week depending on the country’s Au Pair program. You will receive full board, your own private bedroom, time to attend a language school, time to study and a weekly /monthly pocket money allowance.
In return, the host family will require from you some childcare, light housework duties and if you are British, teaching the children some English may also be required.

The general requirements for your application

You must have an EHIC card ( European Health Insurance card ). This can easily be applied for if you do not have one. Another requirement is that you must have health insurance. We can assist you in arranging an insurance policy for you, we have a dedicated web page with details of our Specialist Au Pair Insurance. You must have a genuine interest in working with children and wishing to improve on a language in the country that you have chosen to be an Au Pair in. We here at Busybee will speak with you and conduct a thorough interview with you and explain the process. We will then assist you in creating your Au Pair portfolio, ready for the matching process. We will also prepare you for the interview & selection process and can provide to you some suggested interview questions.

The following documentation and guideline rules need to be met:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • Complete an Au Pair application registration form
  • Prepare a ” Dear Family Letter to introduce yourself to potential host families
  • Provide at least 2 photos of you and your family
  • Provide 2 written references relating to any childcare or babysitting that we an verify
  • Obtain and supply a medical note from your local GP stating that you are in good health
  • Provide a DBS/police check to prove you have no criminal record

Once we have your registration form, we will contact you to arrange a time to speak on the phone, by Skype or in person at our office. We will also provide to you a full registration pack with guidelines and tools to aid you in creating your Au Pair portfolio. We will look forward to hearing from you with your registration.
